For many years, now, FVT has been helping folks tell their story in video format, using in-depth interviews in our clients' home.  That approach went kaput  in March 2020, so we IMPROVISED.

It turns out ZOOM is a great medium for an AUDIO  interview when a client has access to a laptop or ipad.  

Our Photo Commentaries product uses Zoom to record your memories about old family photos, where your spoken memories capture the people, places, times and context of each photo.

Then we produce an annotated photo album --where your voice-over explains what the photo means to your family's history.

Here's how it works:

• WE SCAN A SELECTION OF OLD FAMILY PHOTOS   (high-def tiff format)

• WE  HOST  YOU IN A ONE-HOUR LONG RECORDED ZOOM SESSION.

• IN THAT SESSION, WE SCREEN-SHARE  EACH SCANNED PHOTO. 

• YOU TELL US ALL YOU KNOW ABOUT EACH PHOTO.  We prompt you with questions.  (Who, what, when, where, and why, and what do they mean to you?)

• WE  CREATE A VIRTUAL PHOTO ALBUM CONSISTING OF YOUR AUDIO COMMENTARY AS EACH PHOTO IS DISPLAYED.  

• THE PHOTO ALBUM IS COPIED TO A FLASH DRIVE in MP4 format.  (Viewable on computers and devices.) Each digitized photo is also copied available in high-definition format (.jpg and .tiff).
•    AT YOUR DIRECTION, WE CAN HELP YOU UPLOAD YOUR VIDEO TO YOUTUBE WITH PRIVATE SETTINGS. (Grandchildren always impressed!)

How Much Does it Cost?

Our price varies with the number of photos that are scanned and annotated with your voice-over.  

Introductory price for up to 20 family photos is $100.*

includes:

1) a one-hour Zoom recording session.  (Client must have own device suitable for acceptable  sound quality.) 

2) High Definition scanning  up to 20 family photos.  (Physical size limit:  8 x ll)

3) Lightly edited audio voice-over recording of your comments about each photo.  (Split into 10 minute segments for file size management.)

4) Uploading to the Cloud for sharing:  Via either our  DropBox account; or YouTube.

5) A flash drive containing all Virtual photo albums (videos) in .mp4 format;  and all scanned photos in both .jpg and .tiff formats.

*For a small  additional charge, we can make the session transcript available (lightly edited) in pdf format.
